Langeland Handbike Open 2019 – Danish Championship

Langeland Handbike Open is a Handbike Race arranged by the Danish Handbike Club. www.handbike.dk The Race was held for the first time in 2011 and has been an every year event ever since. It takes Place every year the 3. Sunday in June on the beautiful and hilly Country-side near Tullebølle on Langeland . Route & Safety:

The Route is 4,5 km long. All Classes can participate in the Race. The Route will be closed for traffic on the day of the event and safety personal will be placed along the route.

It will be possible for you to test the route on Friday and Saturday between12.00-15.00 o’clock but be aware that no Safety personal will be present those days. Also, the roads will not be closed for traffic on trainings days so make sure to wear a red flag while driving. A helmet is required during training and Race. You will not be covered by insurance from the organizers in case of personal injury, property damage or theft.

Handbike parking:

There is a gymnasium close to the start/Finish area where you can store your Handbike. The gym will be closed outside training ours. (any stolen items will not be covered by the organizers)

Parking:

It is possible to park your car / Van close to the Start/finish area.

Accommodation:

We recommend 2 places where we have been given some good Discounts.

To achieve these discounts just tell them, when booking that you are participating in the event arranged by the Danish Handbike Club.

If you’re participating in the class MH1/WH1 we recommend that you book Hotel Svendborg since it has optimal accommodations for you.

Another 10%. discount is given if you participate in the Race (remember to tell when you book your accommodation)

The trip goes to Langeland:

The easiest way to get to Langeland is by car. The Freeway goes all the way to Svendborg and from there you drive 25 km of good main road to get to Tullebølle on Langeland.

There is also the possibility to take the ferry from Putgarden – Rødby and then again from Tårs – Spodsbjerg on Langeland. From Spodsbjerg you have a 10 min ride by car to Tullebølle. For more information about the ferries please see the following links

Handbike Classes

There must be at least 3 participators in each class. If not, the class will the joined with the with the class above.        

Single start: 

Classes MH3/4 & WH3/4 drive 3 rounds and classes MH1/2 & WH1/2 drive 1 round.

Road Race:

Is driven 1 hour and 1 round

Your result from the single start determines your start position in the Road Race.  

Points are given as follows:

In the case of point equality, the winner will be the best in the single start.

Registration fee is 41 euro.

Prizes: there will be prize money and various sponsor gifts for the 1, 2 & 3 place in the above mentioned classes. The amount of prizemoney depends on how many participators there are in each class.
